A New Camp to Ensure that

ALL ARE WELCOME!!

Joy Ranch is a beautiful 92 acre horse ranch, donated by Joy Nelson of Watertown to Lutherans Outdoors in South Dakota.  Joy Ranch is located 7 miles northwest of Watertown on the shores of Lyle Lake.

Joy Ranch's current buildings include:

  • Horse riding arena

  • Barns

  • Restored 1880's church

  • One-room school

  • Beautiful home

Lutherans Outdoors is conducting a Capital Campaign to raise more than $5 million to build a wheelchair-accessible camp and retreat center in the style of an 1880's town, including:

  • Youth complex

  • Family retreat center

  • Kitchen and dining facilities

  • Campground

Currently, the Joy Ranch 1880's Country Church can be rented for weddings and other special events.

Klein Ranch is a large western horse ranch on the high plains of north central South Dakota. It is open for 3 months during the summer and features horseback riding.


Outlaw Ranch and Atlantic Mountain Ranch are both located near Custer in the Black Hills of South Dakota. 

Outlaw Ranch is a comfortable dude ranch in the heart of the Black Hills and is open year round. 

AMR is a high adventure youth camp which is open for 3 months during the summer offering camping in a Fort, service projects on an Indian reservation, backpacking trips in Wyoming and Black Hills, and programs to design your own activities and adventures.
